Causing Joy in the Presence of the Angels of God

Causing Joy in the Presence of the Angels of God

"Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." -Luke 15:8-10

Before the recent snow storm, I had given my laptop charger to one of my employees so he could use his computer while plugged in at home. In the moment, I was preparing for the storm, and didn't consider the fact that I would be out of town a few days later thus needing the charger. The reason that this employee even needed my charger is because the employee who had the laptop before him left abruptly and we had written off the charger as gone. I mentioned this to someone on Sunday and my wife got excited and said that she found a laptop charger in the former employee's office and wondered if it could be the one. Sure enough, when we got back to the office, it was the right charger, and it made things much easier on me not having to locate a replacement laptop charger for this employee. Needless to say, I was glad when the news came that which we thought was lost forever had now been found!

As important as technology may be, nothing thrills my heart more than seeing someone who was lost get saved, or someone who had wandered away from God make their way back to him. There are some people who would try to be critical to someone who had wandered away and made their way back. According to Luke 15, that is not the right attitude. Each time a sinner repents, the angels of God rejoice over the event. Every time a prodigal comes home, I feel that God is ready to kill the fatted calf and celebrate! Why is that that we sometimes don't act this way? Who do you know that is lost? Do you know someone who may have stepped away from God? Why not send them a text or drop them a call today? Let's do a part to make sure that we get to rejoice over what the world and Satan has lost.
