Written to Last

Written to Last

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." -Isaiah 40:8

On June 16, 1903, Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. 29 days later, the first Ford vehicle was sold in America. If you take a look at the legacy of the Ford Motor Company, you may see a lot of blemishes in who Henry Ford was, but his greatest contribution to our society was making the automobile affordable to regular families all across America. Fast forward 95 years, and Ford had established a great market share of the automotive industry with blue collar, regular people. Reliability was key to this market, so in 1998, Ford adopted the slogan "Built to Last". Now, I don't think it is a secret that your writer is a huge General Motors fan, and I've only every had one Ford. Regardless, we have them in our fleet at work, and they hold up to their slogan.

In Isaiah 40:8, we are presented that even when the grass is gone, even with the flower has lost its beauty, God's Word will stand sure. No matter what trials, tribulations, or triumphs the world may throw our way, God's Word has the answer for every situation of life. I'm afraid that many today have forgotten or neglect the wisdom and power contained within the Word of God. The reality is, just as the Ford was "Built to Last", the Word of God was "Written to Last". Let's make an extra effort to spend as much time as possible in God's Word. Many seek wisdom, but only true wisdom will come from God and His Word!
